Talisman of fossil walrus tusk aquamarine and silver.
Ancient walrus tusks from melting glaciers or found in the tundra are gathered and used by artists around the world. The material is excellent for carving and can take on a beautiful polished finish revealing colors and patterns which occur throughout the material.
This piece of fossil walrus tusk is from the center of the tusk evidenced by the marbled pattern. The weathered edges create an interesting “natural carving” accented by 2 hand carved aquamarine beads suspended from forged silver with 3 rings for the chain.
The pendant measures approximately 2 1/2” x 3/4” and the silver chain with toggle clasp is 24” long.
