The lapidary shop at Borter's Jewelry Studio consists of industrial quality grinding and finishing machines and utilizes state -of- the- art diamond abrasives.

These machines are heavy, noisy and wet (due to the water needed to cool and lubricate the stone grinding process.) One must wear waterproof clothing and protection for eyes and ears while working with this machinery.
